erotic photographs the point of view of a woman - and a bisexual
woman at that. The result is a very different feel from most
of the images you see all over the web and in print."
LoriWorld is not really a women's
site, and it does not market itself as one. So why am I reviewing
it? The reason is that apparently 75% of the current members
are female, and this has been the case for the three years that
this amateur erotic photography site has been running. I took
it upon myself to find out why women are so attracted to this
site, and if it was worth recommending to other female surfers.
LoriWorld's main attraction is the exclusive photography of
Lori Mann, and it is, quite simply, exquisite. She is an expert
in glamour photography (indeed, she runs a glamour studio for
the public on the side) and every single pic on this site is
well lit, artfully arranged, and gorgeous to look at. I'm pretty
immune to looking at porn myself, but I ended up spending a
long time perusing the galleries, simply because the photos
were so enjoyable to behold.
Most of the photos are of solo naked women, some of whom are
well known porn stars, all of whom are absolutely beautiful.
Lori's camera certainly helps them to become so as it lovingly
details faces, breasts and thighs. A lot of the galleries feature
fantasy scenarios - the Amazon, the mermaid, the woman in the
Saloon... There were also a number of fetish, lesbian and gothic
scenes adding variety to the mix. I'm quite sure there are plenty
of women who enjoy looking at other women, including myself,
although I started to wish she would take pics of sexy men too.
Imagine what her style could do to a pair of well shaped biceps...
 There
were only four or five galleries with couples in them, and I
longed for more, because the ones she'd done were fabulous.
I really liked the fantasy costume set "The Marquis and
His Wife" shot in black and white, and a pleasure to view.
Perhaps even more interesting were Lori's experiments with hardcore
pics taken from a male and a female viewpoint. They weren't
as arty, but they were real... including those rarely seen,
real-life facial expressions of lusty sex. If only there were
more!
All in all there are over 90 galleries, including pics from
guest erotic photographers, and Lori's fine art prints, which
include a sumptuous Sleeping Beauty series inspired by the Anne
Rice novel. There are also video clips from various photo sessions.
Along with the artistic photography we get a healthy eyeful
of Lori herself. This woman is not shy when it comes to getting
in front of the camera, which means we get to see Lori on webcams,
and in photos of her adventures at erotic photography conventions,
fetish parties, and on holiday, with a diary revealing various
dates and adventures. While this adds a nice personal dimension
to the site, it's not as up to date as it could be. I found
myself wondering what Lori had been up to for the last couple
of months.
More amusing is the bloopers section - hilarious pics of expressions
and positions that didn't make the grade. It's a nice touch
of reality on such a highly glamorous site, and there's a frission
of jealous pleasure in seeing these gorgeous ethereal women
in slightly clumsy positions.
The site also offers members chat, wallpaper, screensavers,
and live feeds from Pornication which require extra payment
to use.
All in all, I liked this site, and I can see why some women
would enjoy it. It offers something different from the usual
erotica, and exclusivity and quality are always good things
to see on an adult site. The female viewpoint that Lori offers
also makes a refreshing change, and she is easy to identify
with and admire. It's also relatively cheap, which is a bonus.
If you're a fan of erotic glamour photography this site could
be exactly what you're after, however if you want more couples
pics or naked men you won't find a lot of joy here. Perhaps
in the future Lori will turn her hand to this kind of content
- something we can all look forward to.
PS - I have given LoriWorld three and a half stars rather than
four, simply because her site isn't specifically aimed at women,
and doesn't offer as much "for women" content as I'd
would like.
